Dutch Asylum and Migration Minister Marjolein Faber cannot count on support from other European Union (EU) member states for her proposal to let the Netherlands opt-out of the bloc’s rules on migration. Ministers from Germany, Greece, and Sweden all denounced her plan, which seeks special exceptions for the Netherlands, before the start of an EU meeting on migration in Luxembourg on Thursday.
If we could have opted out of migration rules then Brexit might not have happened.
They are well aware that it won’t work. But they’ll try regardless so they can blame Brussel when it fails.
They’re also currently trying to pass a law to bypass the parlement so they can pass any law they want without having to get a majority vote by declaring a state of emergency (supposedly caused by immigration). This won’t pass either, but it does allow them to blame other for their incompetence and unfulfilled promises.
