“Alternative Youtube link”? You mean the source of the original video?

Why share these shitty links that can disappear next year instead of just sharing the original and let the viewer decide where to watch it?

To encourage the use of privacy friendly frontends. The direct YouTube link is provided for those who prefer it.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but you’re essentially suggesting it would be better if the process you currently experience, of having to click the post and then the alternative link, should only be forced upon the privacy conscious people, and you should receive the prioritized experience of clicking the link directly to YouTube, as is expected behavior.

But I would argue that’s exactly why I post it in the way that I do. The majority of links are not catered to privacy users, they are direct YouTube links. Is it so terrible that I choose to cater to those people who usually are not?

The url you shared is not a trusted url. Privacy-minded people wouldn’t even open that. I’d rather just have the video and watch it with uBlock Origin or NewPipe. Or I decide to watch it in my own instance of Invidious. I can choose how I want to watch it. There is no reason not to share the original source of the video.

The original source of the video is in the post body text for anyone who prefers their own method, I don’t see how that’s such a huge issue.
