Shouldn’t there be an official fund that’ll sponsor sticker ads? I’ve seen a few in my home town but I’m wondering if it’s done on their own money. Doesn’t it pose security risk to scan random QR codes though they promote privacy cryptocurrencies? How can one protect against it?

Get a QR code scanner that shows you the raw data without connecting to the internet. Binary Eye on F-droid is pretty good. If it contains a link, and you click it without precautions, don’t tell me I didn’t warn you.
