It looks like some plans changed at the 11th hour. People on r/monero were saying that in the current climate, the seed nodes would be shut down and the Haveno Council members arrested.

So instead, it looks like the devs are just releasing the software, and there are to be multiple competing instances of Haveno. Anybody can create a Haveno mainnet, they are responsible for finding hosting, appointing arbitrators, setting maker/taker fees, and staying anonymous. The seed nodes are hidden behind Tor hidden services. If one instance gets shut down, several more can immediately start up. The Haveno and Monero developers avoid being operators or taking fees, which makes it more difficult to lawfare them.

It definitely will need the network selection function built into the UI. Modifying source code and recompiling just to change the network is a non-starter for 99.9% of users.

Agreed. I was in the Haveno matrix Room and was basically saying that eventually I think the client will be able to connect to multiple networks at the same time, grab its listings, and then compile the orderbook with every network that’s trusted by the community and added to the source code. That way, the user sees every listing from every network that the Monero community trusts, but they don’t have to know it’s from different networks until they click the details for the listing. Otherwise, it’s just one massive order book.
