its a white guy saying black kids prolly liked this white guy like i liked this white therefore black kids must be ok with no representation and we shouldn’t give it to them.
thats what this meme is saying and it is indeed racist
yeah the intention of this meme is obviously anti-representation which is usually due to subconscious racism. No idea why people are so defensive of this post.
The point of the post isn’t about the race of the children (OP was careful to make them both the same race in the comparison). The point is a difference in gender, with boys and girls fantasizing about being fictional characters differently.
You’re completely ignoring the “boys” vs “girls” part and only seeing the race of fictional characters. But, who knows, maybe OP is making a racist dog whistle. I didn’t take it that way, you can take it however you want. I just stopped caring.
Congrats, you posted the first racist meme I’ve seen on lemmy.
How exactly is it racist?
It’s saying representation doesn’t actually matter and girls are just sensitive, or what else would it be saying?

I’m not white you idiot.
His brain lack wrinkles, so black people = racist.
If he said sexist I could see the angle but he went full retard on this take.
Also I see plenty of racist memes here on Lemmy.
It’s racist by making fun of people wanting representation. But the sexism is quite strong in this meme …
Agreed on the racist (and sexist, obviously), genuinely surprised (and glad for you) it’s the first.
Nah. Just sexist

I wonder why people are more okay with the amount of sexism in memes.
oh if he was careful to only include black kids in his meme about a black character vs a white character then there must be no racism.
