We already communicate with house pets - at a level that couldn’t be enhanced much by any “translation”, because the limiting factor here is not a language barrier, but the animal capacity.
Although some pet owners believe they could have real complex conversations with their pets if it wasn’t for the language, that’s just wishful thinking or a different definition of “complex”.
Its not about wanting to keep an engaging and intelligent conversation with a bird. But about being able to understand what goes through the animals head, and that’s not something easy. You’d need a lot of time and dedication with an animal to get even close to understanding what it actually wants. Specially the more unfamiliar you are with its species.
