Yes, they had three obvious primary motives:

1. dismantle the Constitutions 4th amendment with the Patriot Act so they could expand the surveillance state and spy on their own citizens, which before that date would have been struck down as unconstitutional

2. launch decades of wars with Muslims at the behest of our Masters, that is Israel, of course.

3. cover up a theft of taxpayer monies, 3 trillion at least, by destroying evidence in Bldg 7 where the CIA and other suspect government agencies all had offices
