They used to be the Big Evil SJWs for years, but I guess the right has newer enemies. Never hear them complained about anymore. Good folks

They were (are?) a group that catalogued hate speech and general shitassery on Reddit. Arguably overzealously, but pretty close to current standards. Members were perceived as the Reddit boogeyman with deep connections to the admins and unlimited leeway. Turns out they were just a decade ahead of the times in calling out rape jokes and racism.

Lots of posts where I disagreed at first, but I managed to find an understanding and, I guess, become a slightly better person.

One thing I fucking loved was when u/TotesMessenger snitched on their posts and it created drama. That was glorious, every time.

Samesies. I found it interesting that the people objecting to shit Reddit says post-2016 dwindled into… exactly the sort of people you’d expect. I don’t want to say that trump improved the internet, because he didn’t, but his election did let internet douchebags feel brazen enough to sit under the same umbrella.

As I recall, they were very selective in the hate speech they documented. Posts that showed hate speech coming from their favoured groups were swiftly removed.

      low-hanging fruits*

They only documented it when it came for a non-hateful subreddit and it had lots of upvotes and it wasn’t removed by moderators, except for r/teenagers.
