According to the post I linked to, in the comments someone mentions that Lemmy and Kbin were mentioned on a Reddit post. ETA: I recommend rfollowing that account.
Doesn’t seem like theres too much interaction on that post for such a huge spike. Though maybe people don’t want to get caught still using reddit ¯_(ツ)_/¯

/r/ModCoord, the community that organized the blackout, has officially updated their stance to promoting Reddit alternatives (non-Reddit post mirror).
