Experience:

  • Used in October 2023
  • First time customer
  • Was looking to convert Monero to Amazon gift cards

Positives:

Used twice and received the product both times after the Monero had 3 confirmations on the blockchain

Negatives:

Applicable Convenience Fee: 4% – Compared to competitors it’s relatively low, but still high.

Rating:

4.5/5.0 – Works great, just wish there was a clear explanation. Regarding how many confirmations it would take before receiving the product

Recommendation:

  • I recommend this if you haven’t been accepted to cake pay yet.

If (hypothetically) Haveno supports this payment method, maybe your “fee” will be mostly negative in total: e.g. when 1 XMR = $150, you might be able to get a $155 or $160 Gift Card for 1 XMR, getting $5 or $10 more. This is because XMR buyers are willing to pay more on a KYC free platform.

A practical problem would be that if you make an offer, you may have to wait long though the rate may be even better and you can specify the exact amount you need in terms of USD. If you take an offer, you can do this quickly, though rate is less better (but you can still buy a gift card a bit cheaper) and the available offers might be inconvenient (e.g. when you just need $50, there might be only offers for $100 to 200). Still, I think and hope that Haveno is going to be win-win for everyone.
