Panels can have different voltages, so you can’t just randomly mix them. And those mini-inverters have maximum capacity you can’t exceed (typically 800W).

With the existing 100W panel you have it isn’t really worth it, but there are relatively cheap mini systems these days that are sold under the term “balcony solar” that can plug into a regular outlet and feed power into your home network.

9·3 days agoIt is also important to note that the newest Qualcomm devices, starting around 2022 or 2023 (specifically using SM8350 or newer) use completely different audio logic, based on AudioReach and cannot use the q6voice patches.
Ugh. Anyone happens to know if this affects the Fairphone5 already?

4·4 days agoNo, he only says that it is affordable to a medium sized budget.
My educated guess is that it costs around 25,000€ to build this. The ePropulsion engine and battery you can see in the video is about 10,000€ of that.

22·4 days agoThis specific design maybe not, but similar light plywood-epoxy catamarans based on designs by James Wharram are well regarded and proven open-ocean sailboats.
Old article from 2015, but it has some valid points.
The original source says it is a solarpanel and that they carefully avoided crossing the photovoltaic elements with the string that holds it down would support that fact. It does look quite unusual though, but expensive flexible hiking solar panels like that might exist.

I think in existing hospitals the biggest potential for small Solarpunk efforts is around visitors (family members etc.). Another topic could be food preparation for patients.

3·18 days agoProbably 120€ if you add shipping from the US and VAT to it. The weak US$ helps a bit so maybe 110€.

4·18 days agoHence me specifying roof-top parks. You know, with lots of waterlogged soil and trees. The static load of that is significantly higher, but of course heavy trucks cause lots of dynamic load, which is another difficult issue.

It depends if they are linked in series or in row, but yes, typically it is better to have them all with the same open-circut voltage.
I guess most will have an overload protection, but with these cheap ones I would stay on the safe side and not add so many panels that an overload can easily happen.
