The larger the instance the more versions they’re likely behind as they wait for the worst bugs to be fixed first. So you’re probably going to get different answers from different people.
But blocking an instance should prevent you from seeing posts on that instance, but you’d still see posts and comments made by users of that instance, on another instance.

My instance was on a version where I wouldn’t get reply notifications from a user of an instance I’d blocked, but that seems to have changed recently as I’ve gotten notifications recently.
I’m not sure how far behind your instance is from the developers instance: lemmy.ml. So I’m not sure how they handle reply notifications.
They’re training them on social media because there’s a lot of cheap content…

If you’re realistic about AI and how far away it is, that’s not a big deal. You don’t send a baby to college before it can talk. But every AI company has to say they’ll have God level AI next Tuesday because if they don’t, they don’t get investors.

The VC is what pays for that training, with the hopes that once it’s trained, it will be good enough to make money.
Its great there’s an open source code for an AI, but it’s not what you think is happening.
