BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.worldto [Migrated, see pinned post] Casual Conversation @lemm.ee•It's Saturday what have you watched this week?English1·21 days agoThe movie about Motley Crue, “The Dirt”, which was interesting although I don’t think began to scrape the surface of their depravity, and the third season of Somebody, Somewhere, which really is a wonderful show. Every episode has been a gem. I forgot how much I love Motley Crue as horrifying as they are historically, I’m glad they got out and got sober and left us with glorious hair metal at its peak.

It’s not something to fool around with.

BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.worldto [Migrated, see pinned post] Casual Conversation @lemm.ee•How easily do you sunburn?English4·25 days agoI am the whitest of white Anglo Saxon mutts, so very easily. In summer I wear a giant hat and sunglasses and loose light shawl everywhere or featherweight sweater. I went on a resort vacation a couple of years ago, and within an hour the one day I was burned even with sunblock. Never again.
BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.worldto [Migrated, see pinned post] Casual Conversation @lemm.ee•Whose the worst workplace bully you've ever met?English1·1 month agoWe had this older woman in our office who used to decide to subtly target everything anyone did wrong who was younger than her, she’d pick a person and just begin to pick away at them in an innocent way. Nobody could identify what she did all day long, and she was obviously very insecure because she was the oldest person in the department. She would decide to pick at you for months, until you finally fought back somehow, and then she’d pick a new target, ever so subtly. I was not good at handling myself in those situations back then so I just was miserable for months until I finally burst into tears at her for whatever she did that day, and that was a crude but effective method. She turned her guns on someone else who tried to handle it for a while, but then eventually went to HR and she got nailed to the wall and decided to retire.
Also had a manager I’m pretty sure was borderline sociopathic. I’ve never meant someone so dishonest, manipulative, and greedy in my life. She got told to quit or be fired after some major upper management changes, so she quit, got a new job, and apparently got walked out of it a bit later on, and now she actually works at my current job site with basically the McDonald’s shift supervisor of jobs in this organization. I had to deal with her once over the phone a couple of years ago and she still sounds like a dog with its tongue hanging greedily out of its mouth.

BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.worldto [DORMANT] Trending Communities@feddit.nl•Trending Communities for Saturday 19th April 20255·2 months agoI’m glad you enjoy! What a joy it is for me to find a few poems every day and share. Even if they don’t resonate with everyone, I’m grateful to all who take a moment to read them.
BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.worldto [Migrated, see pinned post] Casual Conversation @lemm.ee•hey, how's your valentine going?English2·4 months agoMy SO is a sociopath. He’s accusing me of withholding money from my paycheck, and took my phone out of my hand and threw it, and called me a deceptive little cunt, and a whole host of other things.
BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.worldto [Migrated, see pinned post] Casual Conversation @lemm.ee•hey, how's your valentine going?English2·4 months agoSo bad. I’m actually afraid to be at home tonight.
BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.worldto [Migrated, see pinned post] Casual Conversation @lemm.ee•How and where do you watch shows and movies?English2·4 months agoOn my bed on a tablet. I actually hate big screen TV because it looks fake to me. Tablet sized lets me get into the scenes.
BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.worldto [Migrated, see pinned post] Casual Conversation @lemm.ee•It's Saturday what have you watched this week?English4·4 months agoJust Letterkenny. I’ve already seen all of it but sometimes it just feels like I can step into a world where I just do a lot of hanging out with fine people in a still place in the world.
BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.worldto [Migrated, see pinned post] Casual Conversation @lemm.ee•Trivial events that brought larger feelings?English2·4 months agoI put a picture of myself on Instagram and then later took it down because I didn’t like the way I looked. My SO asked why and I told him I was just being vain, and he told me I looked “perfectly fine for your age”.
When people start adding “for your age” as a qualifier that means you’re old.
BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.worldto [Migrated, see pinned post] Casual Conversation @lemm.ee•It's Friday - What are your plans for the week-end?English1·4 months agoI babysat my friends’ four little boys. Well technically the baby went to bed before his parents left, but the other three were a wild ride. All six and under. We had a big dance party and they all wanted me to chase them and “get” them which I did, and the 2 year old had a meltdown when it was bedtime and I had to haul him kicking upstairs, but in minutes I had him laughing reading him a book and I somehow got them to sleep, little monkeys they are. So cute and so fun.
BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.worldto [Migrated, see pinned post] Casual Conversation @lemm.ee•Anti-nostalgia thread: what are y’all happy is gone and hope never returns?English7·4 months agoSmoking everywhere and anywhere. Younger folks have no idea how ubiquitous it was, not to sound boomerish, but everything smelled so bad, and people would smoke in places that would shock you now, like in hospitals they would smoke in the nurses station, if you walked into a clothing store at the mall they’d be smoking at the counter, etc. Even when they did things like making that glass room for smokers at Tim Hortons, I once saw a woman sitting in there with her toddler in a stroller puffing away. It was actually amazing that anyone put a stop to public smoking because so many people did it.
I am so sorry. I am in the final days of my dog’s life as well, trying desperately to convince my ex to euthanize him with love and dignity rather than getting to an emergency decision, and it’s awful. He’s SO ready to go and yet it’s killing me.
Until the dementia and tracheal stenosis set in he was hilarious. People criticize you online for having pugs, but he was a stray, and he made me laugh all the time. He literally dug potatoes we were growing out of the pot and ate them raw, shit himself inside out for days and was delighted that he had figured out where we were hiding the secret foods. I would take him to the dog park and he’d hang out the window and scream in joy the whole way there and back.
Here’s a video of him singing me the song of his people for you, OP, I’m so sorry.
