I enjoyed this video because vast sections of London, are easily recognizable from this 60 year old video:
“A Journey from Castrol House in Marylebone Road London, to the City of Bath in a MKII Jaguar in 1963. Advanced motorist George Eyles takes us through London, out over the Hammersmith Flyover (an area which has really changed a lot) and follows the A4 West onto Reading and a newly built section of the M4. Later he passes through Newbury, Hungerford, Chippenham, Malborough, Calne, and ends at Bath. It is fascinating to see how all these towns and roads looked back then”
This was kinda blissful to watch and enjoy the commentary, although I’m not quite sure about this particular piece of “advanced motoring”! 😆
It was before power steering and modern clutches. Just getting a Jag rolling was probably pretty advanced by today’s standard.
