2·1 month agoI’d be concerned with the type of user base this will attract. Gonna end up with more predators than Dunder Mifflin Infinity. I just have low trust in online users. Wouldn’t even host a Lemmy server, having to manage text and images submitted by anonymous users, no thanks.
Good guy Tim tryin to make sure everyone has a Merry Christmas. Sounds like nice list material to me.

2·4 months agoOpen webui has a nice little built in ide for tools that defaults to the weather script, all you need to do is drop in an openweathermaps key, save it, and the models are ready to use it.
Testing and Iteration went a long way for me. My tools started smaller and got better. Sounds like you’re on a similar path. Happy scripting!

1·7 months agoIf your video file is Japanese language use a whisper model optimized for Japanese. Once it produces the Japanese srt you can get translations from open ai. Use handbrake to add the srt to the file and you’re done. Good luck!

Technology@beehaw.org•Crunchyroll accidentally confirmed it uses ChatGPT for subtitles
4·7 months agoI maintain my own media library and I ensure every file has English and German subtitles. There are a variety of ways to source srt files but when all else fails a machine with enough compute can transcribe video files using open source whisper. After I generate an English srt file from the video I send it to OpenAI to create the German translation.
If it’s a personal project of course, or else why would I be doing it? If it’s work maybe but probably no.
