1. From a very high POV, how does it work?
   I write a query and it passes it to a bunch of engines and then does some internal ranking of results?
2. can I configure engine weights?
3. Is some metadata stored (for example which engine response I chose) or is it rather stateless?
4. technically speaking it would still be my IP querying those external engines, right?
   So any kind of “bubbling” they do based on IP is still in effect?
5. The general idea is that we would have a few shared instances of those, or rather everyone should be hosting an instance for themselves?
6. Do you foresee how the external engines might block Websurfx once they discover their ads don’t land?

A “release” pushed to AOSP used to basically line up with a Nexus/Pixel update. At the end of 2025 they changed it to 4 times a year, now they are changing it to twice a year.

The problem is not that they are trying to have the same feature set. It’s that they are enforcing using those only with theirs, not open source, tools. Last time I checked there was no way to use their mail service with mail client of ones choosing, for example. That’s the golden cage

It would be cool if there was an option to tell compiler how to name the object in the end. A strength of C mangling (or rather lack of it) is that you can take the object file and know beforehand the names. With mangling that will always depend on the version of the compiler. In practice, while mangled names are kind of stable, mangled C++ names are not really reliable in the real world

If we could tell the compiler “in the end name/alias this function as prefix_or_name_of_cargo_my_super_duper_function”, we could then easily call it in an assembler/pure C/etc
It could even be a separate wrapper. only for exposing stable function names in the object files
