West coast, new england, bible belt, bayou/french south, texas, the midwest, the latin basin. These are vastly different cultural regions. Your argument isn’t holding water to me. I’ve lived in many different places, and you just can’t have a landmass as big as the US or China and make it homogenous. It just doesn’t happen. People don’t work that way.

We must live in very different Americas. It looks a lot more different when you’re out there with the people. Every region is different. Cultures, goals, a hodgepodge of immigrant customs and a beautiful mosaic of faces. Even in my sleepy midwest city there’s so much more than white Christian culture that has stood in stark contrast to the narrative that we are solely an anglican-aryan nation.

I grew up a military brat. I’ve seen nearly every corner of this country. I’ve seen with my own eyes what the melting pot actually looks like beyond my own social media bubble. A nation is more than it’s incumbency. People live here.

That’s just straight up untrue. Latin culture and language is very much alive within our nation, as are African, European, and Asian cultures. We are witnessing the dying gasp of the white Christian roots myth. The true America beneath that facade are the everyday people in the margins that make up this immigrant nation, and this rise of fascism and neoliberalism is exactly the sign that the idea of a white Christian nation is coming undone.

Look what they have to do to maintain the myth. Look how hard they grasp for anything to make their own foundational lies seem real. Look how you’re buying that lie.

I sincerely hope that’s a sarcastic question. If I’m taking the bait, I’ll wear the dunce cap: The litnus test for whether an ideology should exist at all is whether or not it requires the extinction of all other ideologies. If a system accepts multiple viewpoints and inputs, literally that it’s DEI, it is a good system. If a system exists that recognizes an ideology within itself is calling for the extermination of all others and snuffs it out, it is a great system. See Nazis.

You know what, the Standard-Company monopolies look like saints compared to today’s billionaires. It takes a real special level of evil to do all this after we’ve legally known better (post anti-trust legislation and monopoly law). And for the record, EV transportation, social networking, and communications infrastructure are the new steel, oil, and rail.

Business sense doesn’t make billionaires. Obscuring profitable forms of human suffering and conducting short-sighted grifts does.

Let me clarify. They do not use polygraph tests alone to determine when someone is lying. They use it to determine the priorities of how resources get devoted to uncovering what might become a security risk for any individual. This is common, good sense practice when handling classified information. It’s OpSec. It should be happening to keep us safe. Even if it’s, say, 80% accurate under optimal conditions, that saves time and money when devoting resources into invading the personal life of a classification candidate. It helps catch the bad candidates early, unlike what’s happening here.

It’s more about probing specifically where to look if you want to find dirty laundry when looking for security-clearance candidates. They don’t assume you lied when you said you didn’t do hard drugs, but your body did react to that question deliberately in a way that suggests maybe we should look into a history of drug abuse before we accept you reading about sensitive topics.

I recommend you read about Alan Watts’ Organism-Environment theory. It posits that you cannot separate the biosphere an organism lives in from the organism itself. That the entire system as a whole is one unit and that each organism within it is as an organ is to said organism. The air, breath, food, waste, chemical processes, etc. do not exist within a barrier contained by skin. You are more than a meatbag propped up by bones sustained by external fuel.

Now conciousness… That’s another beast, and those who tie individual conscious agents to a national identity or some other arbitrary box do absolutely have ulterior motives. Namely control and oppression.

Edit: After re-reading your argument, I agree. Personal identity is a product of conscious agents, not the physical makeup of our biosphere, thought physical observations of the world do play into personal identity.

Edit: To clarify, this is proving that the military is truly agnostic to civil politics, and means that ultimately, if things continue, they’re on our side, not theirs.
